Educommunication and 'media literacy': reference spaces in scientific and academic dissemination in Spanish
This research carries out a detailed review of the main spaces for the dissemination of research on educommunication and media literacy in Latin America, taking as a reference high-impact journals (JCR / Scopus), publications in emerging indexes (ESCI), historical publications of recognized trajectory and international reference congresses. In the field of high-impact scientific journals, there are limited spaces for publication in Spanish, which results in high rejection rates. However, some journals of the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) have improved their relative positioning, taking the baton from the topic of educommunication. Likewise, some historical publications on communication and education are reviewed, such as Comunicar Magazine, a specialist in the field, Chasqui , Venezuelan Studies of Communication , Contract Text and Communication & Education , some with more than 50 years of existence. It concludes with a list of the main international conferences on the subject, to offer, in short, a kind of mapping of the main spaces for the dissemination of this subject in our language.
