It is time for us to ask ourselves and re-ask ourselves what our mission is in the Festivals as SIGNIS Juries, beyond the task of seeing the official competition and justifying our awards from our particular point of view. In every Festival in which we participate, whether local or international. *

1. We represent a vision, a style and a conscience that is first and foremost social and cultural. A way of being and existing in the world that is essentially spiritual and human, concerned with a better existence for all our sisters and brothers, without distinction.

2. As Catholic communicators, we are tasked with communicating for social transformation. Among others, our tasks are for the construction of a culture of peace, based on the fulfillment of human rights and the rights of children and adolescents.

3. In each of our participations we would have to be active participants. This means citizen participation: being present at activities, making ourselves known, participating in press conferences, doing public relations, organizing book presentations, supporting films that are in line with our ideas, writing about our experiences, inviting people to participate in our organization, discovering and promoting new talents, generating audiovisual content for networks and media, and more!

4. Cinema was, is and will be the mass art that best reads and reflects on our current events. It is a matrix of philosophical thoughts that nourish our humanist consciences to understand the world, the regions, our countries, neighborhoods and homes. That is why it is essential. The main festivals of the planet, but also the small community shows, are on an experiential equality. This material provides us with new tools for cinema and education, from an educommunicational point of view to think and debate with our adolescents and young people. But also for them to make their own cultural products with their own stamp although marked by respect for cultural diversity and the option for the poor, environmental problems, migration, poverty. Equality and a world of solidarity are our utopias.
