The proposal to launch a popular, community and citizen virtual radio, such as the one proposed by SIGNIS ALC, is of fundamental importance because it vindicates the validity of the radio and opens the possibility of entangling the diverse cultures and identities of Latin America and the Caribbean and produce community and popular communication in virtual environments, highlighted the Argentine teacher and researcher and specialist in community communication, Claudia Villamayor , in the opening class of the Radio Production Training Program , promoted by SIGNIS ALC.

The moment of technological convergence that the world is experiencing is an opportune time to rethink and re-do, plan and manage a communication project that deepens democracy and is transformative, said the Argentine communicator.

For Claudia Villamayor, community communication must be situated in the reality of the peoples , what happens in the economic, social, political, cultural and especially in the commitment to measure the state of social justice and facilitate a good diagnosis , that can be updated daily, to be "leaven in the dough" in that scenario: "Have a special awareness and a special record on the state of social justice in our countries," he said.

As he commented, the other challenge is how to build a communicative statement that has strength in the values that it wants to defend and that have to do with distribution, solidarity and communication of the common.

Third, as he pointed out, the institutional initiative that has as a priority the voice of Latin American and Caribbean youth must be vindicated, that they have the possibility of creating a series of issues that our countries are experiencing, from the perspective of youth.

The Argentine communicator, who also collaborates as an advisor to this training project in radio production, highlighted the magnitude of participation of young communicators, since the training proposal will reach 100 young people from 11 countries, who assume the commitment to be able to make a good record, daily, updated, favoring the multiplicity of voices in radio programming and that not only the cultural color is heard, but also what is happening in Latin America, from the perspective of youth committed not only to social justice but also to achieve a more just, supportive society, more committed to the truth , to the truths of our peoples and a commitment to denaturalize lies.

"Our commitment is to expose injustices, denaturalize lies, compromise the voices that battle every day in our continent, in our communities, to achieve a more just society," said Claudia Villamayor, after highlighting that this has historically been the mission of popular and community communication.
